Hope everyone had a nice long weekend! We’re officially into Fall now and while the season’s getting cold, your inbox doesn’t have to be.

Today, I’m going to share a quick tip on how I use LinkedIn and a pretty useful Google extension to find and contact any recruiter via email.

Why Email Over LinkedIn?

It’s no secret that LinkedIn is the #1 platform for those looking to get in touch with recruiters.

But here’s a strong belief I hold when it comes to contacting them.

Emails get higher response rates than LinkedIn messages.

Why? Think of it this way.

Recruiters may not check their LinkedIn every day, but they sure will their inboxes.

But, that doesn’t mean I disregard LinkedIn. After all, it’s how I find the emails in the first place.

Have you ever wanted to contact a recruiter, and went on their LinkedIn profile, only to discover that their email is either unlisted or private?

It can definitely be frustrating. But luckily I found to a neat Google extension called Apollo.io.

It’s an app that pulls any contact’s data from their LinkedIn, such as their emails and even numbers! (Though I don’t recommend cold texting)

Discovering Apollo was a game changer so instead of gatekeeping, I’ll share how to use it for yourselves. 👇

TIP/TOOL OF THE WEEK
Installing & Using Apollo.io

  1. Head over to the extension page here and add to chrome

  2. Once installed, go to LinkedIn

  3. Search for a company you would want to work for

  4. Go on their page and head over to their “people” tab

  5. To search for recruiters, enter “recruiter” or “talent” as the keyword

  6. Filter more by location, and role type

  7. Once you find them, go to their profile page

  8. On their profile, look for this yellow icon

  9. Click on the icon then click View email address

  10. Done! Now you have their email saved to your list!

Oh and one last tip, in the settings, toggle Apollo off for Google Calendar and Gmail, I found that it slows both down.

Actionable Step 

  1. Download Apollo. Once installed, follow the instructions above to find recruiters and get their emails!

  2. Gather a list of 2-5 contacts, save them, and email them this week.
